The Public Health and Society minor equips students to better understand the social issues that deeply influence health and wellness.  Topics include social inequalities in health, cutlure change and social explanations for mental and physical health. Health care workers and policy makers increasingly recognize that a full understanding of these topics is essential for professionals that are working toward a healthier society. 

The academic minor in Public Health and Society requires a total of 21 credits from three categories. In completing the requirements for the minor, a minimum of 12 credits must be distinct and different from the units used to complete the requirements of a major or another minor.  Any credits above this minimum requirements may be double counted.
