Vanguard University is a member of Acadeum, a consortium of liberal arts colleges participating in an online course sharing platform to enable students to continue to make academic progress toward degree in a number of ways. Specifically, Vanguard participates in course share with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) Consortium. Acadeum provides an opportunity for students to regain good academic standing, take summer course work, and to identify degree completion pathways.

Students must seek permission to take Acadeum course work from their Student Success Coordinator (SSC) and must be approved by the Director of Advising and the Registrar, via internal forms and processes obtained from the SSC. Only courses pre-approved by the respective department chairs will apply toward the degree. Due to the consortial nature of Acadeum, credits are billed, earned, and transcribed as Vanguard University courses. As such, they qualify for financial aid and impact a student’s GPA and academic standing.

Students enrolled in Acadeum course work are Vanguard University students of record and financial assistance is processed through Vanguard University.

Course sharing through Acadeum may be used in limited circumstances, provided the following criteria have been met:

1. The requesting student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for undergraduate students and at least a 3.0 for graduate students.
2. The requesting student must have sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student status.
3. The student may not request more than one course per VU semester.
4. The requested course must not be offered at Vanguard in the term requested or the student must have irreconcilable university-created scheduling conflicts with the Vanguard course (e.g, two required offered at the same time, with no other sections available).
5. The requested course must be offered by a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) consortium.
