Theology B.A. with a Concentration in Ministry and Leadership
Program Student Learning Outcomes
1. Bible: The student is able to communicate the meaning and relevance of a biblical text.
2. Theology: The student will be able to explain the basic tenets of historic Christian orthodoxy and apply those tenets to contemporary contexts.
3. Worldview: Students will articulate biblically informed responses to those questions at the heart of a comprehensive worldview.
4. Christian Ethics: Students will articulate an approach to making ethical decisions that is informed by both ethical theory and the teachings of scripture.
5. The Church: Students will articulate an understanding of the nature and mission of the church.
6. Christian Leadership: Students will explain leadership as serving Christ and His Church for the sake of the World through theological reflection informed by scripture and insights from the field of Leadership Studies.
7. Missions: Students will apply missiological and intercultural theories and principles and critical thinking skills to interact effectively with diverse contexts and people.
8. Spiritual Formation: Students will articulate a holistic spiritual formation toward Christlikeness for the sake of others.
Before beginning classes in the major upper division requirements, it is typically required of all Theology majors that they have completed the following courses; OT-201 Old Testament Survey, NT-101 New Testament Survey, and THEO-103 Introduction to Theology.
